Cray-Zee Beehive Craypot
$250.00
Beehive craypots are proven to catch more crays by creating a more natural climb for the crayfish, allowing them to enter into the pots without getting knocked off by the swell.
Wairarapa commercial fishermen have taken time and done a trial on different types of pots to see which ones performed the best and beehive came out on top, especially close in to shore when there is a swell.
I have been making pots locally for a few years and due to demand we’ve now expanded to selling them on the web throughout New Zealand.

Cray-Zee Hints on Setting our Cray Pots
Put cray bait in mutton cloth to keep sea lice out so the bait lasts longer
Use oily fish as bait, soak mutton cloth in fish oil from the warehouse before setting
If setting off the shore always have the side where the rope is tied facing towards the shore
If setting off a boat have it tied as a tripod with a net buoy at the top of the tripod
If the water is clean and clear, get some glow sticks from the $2 shop to hang in the pot, it really does work!
